Privacy Policy

Overview
Nurtura Mom is a local-first companion for your pregnancy journey — a weekly progressive challenge of introspective questions, emotional quotes, and curated ambient soundscapes. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. Your journal entries, sessions, and profile are stored on your device by default. Optional cloud features are available only when you choose to create an account.
Information we handle
We only handle what is needed to run your experience:
- Profile details you enter — such as a display name, baby name, due date, and language preference.
- Journey content you create — weekly reflections, feelings notes, food logs, and session history.
- Account credentials — your email address and a password (stored only in hashed form) when you opt into cloud sync.
- Device & usage signals — such as app version and sync timestamps, used to keep your data consistent across your devices.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How we use it
- To display your weekly challenge, streaks, and personalized journey.
- To sync your data across your own devices when cloud sync is enabled.
- To send verification codes and account-related emails when you request them.
- To improve stability and diagnose issues using aggregated, non-identifying signals.
Cloud sync & accounts
Cloud sync is optional. If you never create an account, your data stays on your device. When you sign up, your email and a hashed password are used to authenticate you, and your encrypted journey data is synced so you can access it from your other devices. You can delete your account and synced data at any time from within the app, which removes it from our servers.
Data retention
On-device data remains until you uninstall the app or clear it yourself. Cloud-synced data is retained for as long as your account is active and is deleted shortly after you delete your account. We may keep limited, de-identified logs for a short period to protect against abuse and to comply with legal obligations.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards — hashed passwords, authenticated access to your own records, and encrypted transport. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Because your primary data is stored on your device, you can clear it at any time. For cloud-synced data, you can delete your account from within the app or contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
Nurtura Mom is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated within the app or by email when practical.
Contact
If you have questions about this policy or your data, please reach out through the in-app support channel. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
